Per 1K or per 1M: the 1000x error waiting in every price comparison

Two prices, two units, one table. The mistake does not look like a mistake — it looks like a spectacular deal.

Two prices, two units, one table. The mistake does not look like a mistake — it looks like a spectacular deal. Mixing per-1K and per-1M silently multiplies or divides by a thousand.

The rule

Convert every rate to the same unit before comparing. If a page says $0.003 / 1K and another says $3 / 1M, they are the same price. If you drop both numbers into a spreadsheet without converting, you invent a 1000× discount that never existed.
